Betty Ruth's Story

Betty Ruth Barker Wagoner, age 76, of Evans Sister Road, Hillsboro, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.
Born July 4, 1941, in Elliott County, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Vearl Eldridge Barker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Brother Billie Wagoner, who passed away on September 10, 2017; one son, Scottie Wagoner on May 31, 1978; one brother, Evan "Bud" Barker; and three sisters, Eloise Barker, Kathleen Fyffe, and Lovene Spencer.
Betty is survived by two daughters, Pauletta (James) Engle and Pamela Ruth (Greg) Compton, all of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Betty Jo Hickerson, Travis Engle, Stephanie Osborne, Gregory Scott Compton, Christopher Blake Compton; six great grandchildren, Morgan Alexander, Zachary Scott Alexander, Seth Clark Hickerson, Joshua Taulbee, Titus Compton, and Huxley Compton; and one great-great grandson, Asher Scott Alexander.
Other survivors include three sisters, Virginia Grigsby of Springfield, Ohio, Darlene Gray of Elliott County, and Carol Jo Fraley of South Charleston, Ohio; three brothers, Nickie Barker of Springfield, Ohio, Billy Barker of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Timmy Barker of Sandy Hook; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Betty graduated from Elliott County High School in 1959 and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She was of the Christian faith and enjoyed crocheting, working puzzle books, and spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Roger Skaggs and Brother Randy Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott County Memory Gardens in Sandy Hook.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
