Carlotta V. Sparks Banks, age 72, of Lafayette Drive, Morehead, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at her home.
Born May 10, 1945, in Morehead, she was a daughter of the late Levi Jared Sparks and Mary Dell Conley Sparks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Levi Sparks, Jr., and two sisters, Margaret Brooks and Flossie Brown.
She is survived by one son, Levi (Patty) Banks of Morehead; five grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Stevens, Jobe (Jordan) Banks, Brantley Banks, Gabby Cropper, and Ivy Muse; and five great grandchildren, Rebekah Stevens, Brooklyn Stevens, Ava Stevens, Jaxon Banks, and Jenson Banks.
Other survivors include five sisters, Elizabeth Chaney of Morehead, Ruth Baldridge of Wabash, Indiana, Bessie Cooper of Vanceburg, Mattie Coldiron of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Rebecca Glover of Morehead; three brothers, Jack Sparks of Wabash, Indiana, Ora Lee Sparks of Morehead, and Jerry Sparks of Wabash, Indiana; several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Amy Dickerson.
Carlotta had been a self-employed business woman. An avid U.K. basketball fan, she enjoyed her flowers, sitting on her front porch, and most of all, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands and Bro. Jack Sparks officiating. Burial was in Conley Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Levi Banks, Jobe Banks, Jason Stevens, Jessie Puckett, Jason Thomas and Josh Thomas. Honorary pallbearers: Brian Glover, Tony Glover, Paula Lands, Tammy Honaker, Stephen Coldiron, and Carletta Crowl.
Visitation was 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
