Carolyn Sue Adkins Stiles Carolyn Sue Adkins Stiles, age 71, of Dillon Drive, Morehead, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2019, at her home after an extended illness.
She was born May 31, 1947, in Marion, Indiana, a daughter of the late Homer and Thurley Hogge Adkins. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Oveda Douglas, Deloris Douglas, and Kay Baldwin, and two brothers, Bob and Buster Adkins.
Her husband of 44 years, Jimmy Darrell Stiles, whom she married April 4, 1964, passed away October 7, 2008.
She is survived by three daughters, Tresa Ann Bowman of Morehead, Sue Lyn McClain and husband Jeff of Morehead, Missi Ingles and husband David of Olive Hill; five grandchildren, Heather Henderson (Jesse Goodan), Chelsea Renee Brooks (Kevin), Keshia McClain, Taylor McClain, and Josh Ingles; four great-grandchildren, Colby Dillon, Jackson Stegall, Bentlee Henderson, Macy Goodan, and one on the way.
Other survivors include one sister, Judy Messer and husband Othar of Morehead; extended family, and friends.
Sue was a former employee of The Morehead News. She enjoyed playing Bingo, listening to her family play music, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Jeff McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers: Allen Messer, Jimmy Messer, Tommy Messer, Steve Douglas, Shawn Douglas and Jesse Goodan.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351
