Chyrel Darlene Fraley Adkins, 71, of Buckner Branch, Morehead, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 in the St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

She was born on January 30, 1946 in Slab Fork, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Zenith and Nellie Conley Fraley.

Mrs. Adkins was a retired paralegal having worked for Harvey Pennington in the County Attorney's Office for 28 years.

She was a member of the Sharkey Free Will Baptist Church, a graduate of Rowan County High School and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Darlene loved to fish and she was an avid Rowan County Senior High School Sports Fan. She enjoyed camping, traveling, flowers, helping people, attending church and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, Larry Adkins, whom she married on June 6, 1964, one son, Chris (Cindy) Adkins of Georgetown, one daughter, Teresa (Todd) Plank of Morehead, two brothers, Joe (Sharon) Fraley of Morehead and Don Fraley of West Milton, Ohio, one sister, Rochella Rivers of San Antonio, Texas, three grandchildren, Cody Plank, Nicole Plank and Jacob Adkins and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Harley Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Elijah Sexton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was after 6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Cody Plank, Jacob Adkins, Chris Adkins, Randy Barker, Joe Fraley, Todd Plank, Robbie Barker and Tim Rivers.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Fraley, Alan Collins, Rick Barker, Tommy Barker, Jeff Barker, Matt Adkins and Ken Rivers.
