Cora Jane's Story
Cora Jane Puckett Click, age 84, of Christy Creek, Morehead, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 22, 1933, on Pattys Lick in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Lula Belle Dehart Puckett. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Click; son, Billy David Click and his wife Anita Joyce Boggs Click; three sisters, Vada Williams, May Hall, and Ruth Saylor; and six brothers, Bert, Elmer, Jasper, James, Charles, and Virgil Puckett.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Gee and husband John; three grandsons, Mike Smedley, Jr. and Nicole Cline, Richard Gee and Joseph Gee; one great grandson, six-year-old Ayden Michael Smedley; one sister-in-law, Gunda Puckett of Merrillville, Indiana; other relatives and many friends.
Cora was an employee of Morehead State University for 27 years serving as a cook in both ADUC and Alumni Tower cafeterias until she retired in 1993. She enjoyed her job and also loved to cook at home and made sure no one left her house hungry. An excellent quilter, she could often be found quilting and listening to the radio. Cora Jane was known as Granny to nearly everyone who crossed her path and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals with Pastor Larry Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in Click Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Chris Kidd, Rodney Wagoner, Justin Henderson, Arnold Moore, Tim Thompson, and Larry Mynhier.
Visitation is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
