Dorothy Jane's Story

Dorothy Jane Walters Richardson Winters, age 91, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at Providence Pine Meadows in Lexington, where she resided the past eight years.
Born February 18, 1927, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Wes and Clara Nichols Walters. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Phillip Ray Winters and Vernard Arville Richardson; one son, Robert Richardson; three sisters, Reba Gregory, Zona Netherly, and Linda Hiles; and three brothers, Denver Walters, James Madison Doc Walters, and Ray Walters.
She is survived by five children and their spouses: Gary and Carol Richardson of Lexington, Tony and Susan Richardson of Humboldt, Iowa, Rhonda and Leon Strange of Winchester, Phillip and Connie Winters of Bedford, Texas, and William and Pamela Winters of Gray, Tennessee; one sister, Roberta Maddon of Garrison; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Mrs. Winters was a homemaker, food service worker, and a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Clays Mill Baptist Church in Lexington.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Larry J. Maddon officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
