Edith Moody Moore, 88, of Lower Licking Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday evening, July 3, 2016 at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
She was the widow of the late Ted Moore, who died in 2001.
She was born Sept. 9, 1927 in Rowan County, to the late Ernest and Mary Atchison Moody.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Lynden Stevens and George Paul Bowman, a grandson, George Paul Bowman II and a brother, Oral Moody.
Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters, Diana Bowman and Judy Stevens both of Morehead, two sisters, Vada Collins of Mt. Summit, Indiana and Grace Thompson of Sebring, Florida, three grandchildren, Tammy Fannin, Tim Stevens and Michael Bowman, seven great-grandchildren, Jake Bowman, Sean Bowman, Blake Bowman, John Bowman, Shane Stevens, Hana Fannin and Sara Fannin and one great-great-grandson, Sawyer Lynden Stevens.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Bluebank First Church of God, Bluebank Harvesters and a former member of the homemakers. She retired from Morehead State University and had worked at St. Claire Regional Medical Center, Cowden's, Hobbs and McBrayer's.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, attending church and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 7, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Jeff Fannin and Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating.
Burial is in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Tim Stevens, Jake Bowman, John Bowman, Brock Moore, Sean Bowman, Shane Stevens, Kevin Collins and Mike Collins.
Visitation iss after 6 p.m. Wednesday.
