Edna Ruth Kidd Walker, 85, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born on July 17, 1931 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Davis and Myrtle Mae Lambert Kidd.
Mrs. Walker was retired from Western-Electric in Chicago and she was a licensed real estate agent. She was a member of the Pioneer Club of America and attended Slab Camp Christian Church.
Ruth loved to go fishing and she enjoyed Bingo, card games, sewing and cooking for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kenneth Walker, who passed away on Sept. 28, 2003, one son, David Allen Walker, one granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn Walker, her son-in-law, Leon Jaskot, Jr., one daughter-in-law, Kerri Lyn Kurz Walker, three brothers, Emmitt W. Kidd, Arthur Ray Kidd and Davis Kidd, Jr. and two sisters, Verna Kidd and Christine Jennings.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Walker (Deborah) and John Walker (Jenny Johnson) all of Morehead, one daughter, Nancy Carol Walker Jaskot of Morehead, seven sisters, Gertrude Gilbert, Elizabeth Trent, Kay Williams and Linda Kimsey all of Morehead, Lois Anglin of Grayson, Reba High of Mt. Sterling and Sue Fugate of Frankfort, seven grandchildren, Christine Wittwer, Major Aimee J. Mowry, David Ritchley, Jonathan Ritchley, Emali Ann Walker, Amanda Leigh Walker and Wesley D. Walker, eight great-grandchildren, Ian Davis Walker, Braden Walker, Matteo Wittwer, Everett Wittwer, Gwyneth Mowry, Rhys Mowry, Kaine Enis and Addison Ritchley and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Charles Moore and Brother Herbert D. Lewis officiating.
Burial is in the Crix Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Saturday.
Pallbearers are Wesley Walker, Major Aimee J. Mowry, David Ritchley, Paul Kidd, Michael Morton, Otis Morehouse, Scott Wittmer and Terry Fugate and honorary pallbearers are Morris Williams and Walter Kurz.
