Gary Leroy Ferguson, 50, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at UK Medical Center from an extended illness.
Gary was born on August 11, 1966 in Elgin Illinois and was the son of Leroy and Andrea Tackett Ferguson.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Lee Ferguson, and one sister, Susan Delaine Thompson. Gary was the grandson of the late Harvey and Vertner Wallen Tackett, and the late Leaborn and Luna Hutchinson Ferguson.
Gary is survived by both parents of Morehead, along with his wife, Amy Ferguson, whom he married May 23, 2014, one son, Leland Isaac Ferguson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and two sisters, Kimberly Burrey of De Pere, Wisconsin and Stephanie Triplett (Elijah) of Gillette, Wyoming.
Gary also leaves two nieces, four nephews, one great-niece and two great- nephews to mourn his passing and his special four legged friend, Goliath.
He attended the House of Prayer faithfully with his wife. He considered those at his church to be his family. They were a vital part of his life.
Gary had been a substitute teacher in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and loved teaching and sharing knowledge with students.
He was a loving son, brother, husband and father. Many loved his stories, smiles and his kind spirit and personality. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2017 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Joe Cline officiating.
Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
