Gary Curtis Pennington, age 72, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at his childhood home.
Born August 19, 1944, in Morehead, he was the beloved son of the late William Curtis and Ferne James Pennington.
Gary is survived by his loving family: son, Chance W. Pennington (Randy) of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister, Sharon P. Lewis of Morehead; niece, Nikki J. Rushka (Shannon); nephew, C. Michael Dann (Jennifer); great- and great-great nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Gary retired from Kale Uniforms/Apparel Sewn Right in 2015. He served as the Store Manager for the Wheaton, IL store for many years. He was proud to oversee some of Chicago's finest for uniform services; Kale counted the Chicago Fire and Police Department among its storied accounts.
Gary had a lifelong passion for American muscle cars and owned some very coveted autos during his lifetime. He was especially proud of his historic truck. He garnered an honorable mention trophy (Pepsi Pick) at a recent event in July. Gary was an avid NASCAR fan and astute collector of its memorabilia. His collection of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. items rivals even the finest collector.
