Gerald Ray Pelfrey, age 79, of Camargo Road, Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017, at his residence.
Born, November 1, 1938, in Stanton, he was the son of the late Irvin and Norma Mae Wilson Pelfrey. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Skidmore Pelfrey, and three brothers, Glenwood, Dale, and Kendel Pelfrey.
He is survived by his wife, Cara Fagues Pelfrey; two daughters, Elizabeth (Keith) Brown of Nicholasville and Teresa (Paul) Roberts of Paris; one stepdaughter, Shannon Knox of Waynesboro, Virginia; two grandchildren, Thomas and Rayna Roberts; one step granddaughter, Kayla Knox; three brothers, Seldon (Margie) Pelfrey of Jeffersonville, Charles Pelfrey of Stanton, Douglas Pelfrey of Georgia; three sisters, Arnis Bailey of Winchester, Sharon (Larry) Hatton of Stanton and Linda (Ted) Bilbrey of Mt. Sterling; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran, a former carpenter and construction worker, thoroughbred horse farm employee, and farm manager for W.P. and Lucille Caudill Little. He was a member of the Camargo Church of God.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at the Camargo Church of God with Brother Lowell Rice, Brother Aaron Conn, and Brother James Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 22 in Mt. Sterling.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017, at the Camargo Church of God, 4322 Camargo Road, Mount Sterling, KY 40353.
