Gregory Ray DeRossett, age 62, of Morehead, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at his residence.
Born January 10, 1956, in Prestonsburg, he is the son of Degarmo DeRossett of Lexington and the late Ruth Joy Runnels. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Bonita Fannin Gregory.
In addition to his father, Greg is survived by one son, Logan DeRossett, and the mother of his son, Angela Jo Gregory, both of Lexington; a special sister-in-law, Amber Gregory of Hillsboro; Logans baby brother whom he cherished, Konner Fatty of Lexington; and many friends.
Greg also raised and loved these children as his own, Morgan Vance Redmond, Marissa Newsome, and Dakota Newsome, all of Morehead.
He was a bus driver for the Rowan County Board of Education, a member of Century 21 Realty, and former owner of DeRossett Realty. Greg enjoyed music, especially playing the drums, watching NASCAR, boating, and riding bikes with Logan. He was a Viking Pro-Football fan and would often say, Please dont hold that against me.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted 12 noon Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wade Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in DeRossett Cemetery on Bull Creek in Prestonsburg. Nathan Bowling will serve as pallbearer.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
