Herman Jack Webb of Villa Rica, Georgia, formerly of Russell, Kentucky passed away after a lengthy illness on June 19, 2017.
Jack was born in Ashland, Kentucky on August 5, 1941, the son of Mildred Dupuy Webb and Herman Roscoe Webb. Jack is survived by his wife, Hildegard (Joie); step daughter, Erika Ross Krebs; son-in-law, Jay Krebs and grandson, Julius Krebs. He also leaves his brother, James Webb and wife, Emily Webb of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Jack graduated from Russell High School and Morehead State University. Jack followed his mother's love for teaching into a lifelong career in education in Greenup County Public Schools in Greenup County, Kentucky. Jack served as a teacher, principal and as superintendent of schools in Greenup County. After retiring from public education, Jack worked for ten years as Director of the Ashland Kentucky Campus of Morehead State University. One of Jack's great loves was his work early in his career with Upward Bound, an organization focused on giving the less privileged an opportunity for higher education. Jack was active in the Morehead State Alumni Association, serving as a board member, then as president. He was an active member of Mead Memorial United Methodist Church in Russell Kentucky, where he served as President of the Board, Delegate to the Annual Conference, as well as a member of the Methodist Men and the Men's Prayer Breakfast.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel at 1312 Park Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM.
