J. Norwood Caudill, 71, of Lower Oak Grove Road, Morehead, passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2018 at his home.
He was born on September 20, 1946 in Morehead, Kentucky, a son of the late Arvle and R. Delia McDaniel Caudill.
Mr. Caudill was a farmer and retired from Morehead State University, where he worked as a plumber in the maintenance department.
He was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and a graduate of Rowan County High School.
Norwood served as President of the Rowan County Farm Bureau Federation for over 20 years and served on the State Resolution Committee, State Forestry Committee and the State Beef Cattle Committee.
He enjoyed turkey hunting, farm work and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a big fan of University of Kentucky Basketball.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty DeHart Caudill, whom he married on July 10, 1965, two daughters, Jeanetta Caudill Kathman (Gary) of Edgewood and Jessica Caudill Copher (Ebony) of Owingsville, two sisters, Phyllis Ann Caudill Henson of Miami, Florida and Mary Jeanetta Caudill of Morehead, three grandchildren, Jonathan Bradley Stacy, Jared Braxton Caudill Stacy and Harper Grace Copher, one nephew, Philip Henson of Miami, Florida and one great-nephew, Austin Henson.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Elliottville Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Sturgill and Rev. Larry Robinson officiating.
Family remembrances and remarks were shared by his grandson, Jared Stacy.
Burial was in the Caudill Family Cemetery on Lower Oak Grove Road.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead was after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
Pallbearers were Brad Stacy, Jared Stacy, Eb Copher, Gary Kathman, Tim DeHart, Philip Henson, Rick Williams and Chad Copher.
