Janet Walker, 66, of Akron passed away Jan. 9, 2017. She was born in Xenia, Ohio to the late George and Faye Brittingham but lived most of her life in the Akron area. Janet worked for many years in the banking industry as a teller and branch manager. Her hobbies included many but her favorites were spending her time with her family and friends, reading, scrapbooking, and hiking with her daughters.
Her family was blessed to have her as a loving wife, a remarkable mother, and a caring grandmother and great grandmother. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed; her family considers themselves blessed for the time they were granted with her.
Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her sister, Connie. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gary; daughters, Heather (Daniel) Hentosz, Jr., Melissa Walker, Cassandra (Jonathan Kampfer) Walker and Jessica (Joshua) Beshears; grandchildren, Brittany, Dustin, Hope and Hazel; 1 great grandson; brother, Pete; sisters, Charlotte and Angie as well as many other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 5pm on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 4700 S. Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44319 with Pastor Jeffrey Hancock officiating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2pm until the time of the service at the church. A private family interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
