Jimmie Allen Stacy, age 78, of Barn Branch Road, Morehead, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born June 18, 1938, in Rowan County on North Fork Triplett, he was the son of the late Otis and Cora Plank Stacy. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Willie, Carl, and Ora Stacy; and one sister, Darlene McDowell.
Jimmie's beloved wife of 47 years, Betty Ruth Sparks Stacy, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 14, 2008.
He is survived by two sons, Bob Shay and wife Debbie of Hillsboro and Rocky Stacy and wife Terri of Morehead; one daughter, Callie Wagoner and husband Rick of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Casey Shay, Sara Shay, Kristen Watson and husband Patrick, Jonathan Stacy, and Zack Wagoner; and one great granddaughter, Madison Shay.
Other survivors include one brother, Ottis Stacy, and one sister, Bonnie Estep, both of Morehead; extended family; and many friends.
Jimmie retired in 1994 from the Rowan County Road Department, where he had been a supervisor. He had been a logger and farmer and was a former employee of Ray L. White Lumber Company. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at local auctions and restaurants, and visiting with his family. Jimmie attended the Adams-Plank Enterprise Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Randy Wagoner and Bro. Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Adams-Plank Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Stacy, Zack Wagoner, Patrick Watson, Woody Stacy, Marty McCleese, and Dale Estep.
Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
