Kathleen Harris Graves, age 74, of Locust Street, Mt. Sterling, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Windsor Care Center in Mt. Sterling.
She was born May 19, 1942, at Maxey Flat, in Fleming County, a daughter of the late Omar and Georgie Thomas Harris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas Graves, who passed away September 17, 2004; one infant child; two infant great grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul Harris and Willard Harris.
Mrs. Graves is survived by two sons, James M. Graves and his wife Lorie and Thomas O. Graves, all of Mt. Sterling; two granddaughters, Audrey Graves and Emily Hooks and husband Steven; two great grandchildren, Sarah and Rebekah; and a brother, William Harris and his wife Jean of Fleming County.
From 1976 until 1985, Mrs. Graves was a nurse aide and microfilmer at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead. She was a lifelong member of the First United Pentecostal Church and served as song leader for a number of years in Morehead and 12 years in Mt. Sterling.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Ray McIntosh, Rev. Lloyd Dean, Rev. James Blackford, and Rev. Clyde Hooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Denton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Harris, Frank Harris, Steven Hooks, Veagus Hicks, Jared Harris, and Casey Harris.
Visitation is 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Hutton Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
