Lizzie's Story

Lizzie Alice Ingle Scott, age 99, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born March 29, 1917, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Anna Dewitt Ingle. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy Mae McClurg; one brother, David Manual Ingle; and six sisters, Dicie Fultz, Lettie Williams, Lillie Hazel Wright, Flora Ethel Meyers, Vinnie Caudill, and Pearl Netherly.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Scott, on March 12, 1988.

Mrs. Scott is survived by two sons, James L. Scott and wife Marsha and Alan Wayne Scott, all of Morehead; three daughters, Patricia Ann Amburgey of Dade City, Florida, Lydia F. Montgomery of Morehead, and Betty J. Riddle and husband Tony of Owingsville; 17 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and a host of great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by one brother, Carl Ingle and wife Ada of Morehead; one sister, Lou Wilcox of Richmond; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.

Mrs. Scott was a homemaker and a former employee of the Holiday Inn for 17 years, the Eagles Nest, Morehead State University, and Pecco's Restaurant. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joe Cline and the Rev. David Starcher officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Zack McClurg, Kenny Ray McClurg, Orville McClurg, Cecil Cornett, Jeff Scott, Richie Scott, and Bobby Amburgey.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
