Mr. Mark Daniel Kidd, age 21, of Morehead, went home to be with the Lord Friday afternoon, July 15, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, surrounded by his family and friends, after a long battle with Batten Disease.
He was born Nov. 18, 1994, in Rowan County, a son of Troy Ashley and Missy Barker Kidd.
Mark was of the Freewill Baptist faith and attended the Upper Tygart Freewill Baptist Church in Olive Hill.
He enjoyed Bible trivia, going to church, football, playing his harmonica, and most of all he loved being with his family and friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Troy Kidd.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Matthew Christian Kidd of Morehead; one sister, Baylor Kidd of Morehead; his paternal grandmother, Kathy Ross Kidd of Morehead; his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Dorothy James Barker of Grahn; paternal great grandmother, Lillian Kidd of Morehead; one niece, Aubrey Kidd of Morehead; and a special friend, Debbie Dehart Hudson of Morehead. He also leaves many uncles, aunts, other family members, church family, and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Ron Johnson and Brother Monroe Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Kidd Family Cemetery at Blairs Mill in Morgan County.
Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, all day Monday, and until the service hour on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West Highway US 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.
John Henry, Matthew Kidd, Jonathan Bowman, Charlie Graham, Troy McKenzie, and Perry Lewis will serve as pallbearers. Caleb Barker and Ethan Barker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
