Marvin James "Jimmy" Adkins, 24, of Brown Ridge Road, Morehead, passed away Aug. 23, 2016.
Born Dec. 24, 1991, in Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, Jimmy is the son of Marvin C. Adkins of Crestview, Florida, and Jennifer Lancaster-Adkins of Summerville, Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving sisters, Staff Sergeant Ashley Rose Adkins, Hulbert AFB, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, and Cyndi Jo Adkins of Fleming County; maternal grandfather, James Millard Lancaster, Jr. of Fayetteville, Georgia; paternal grandmother, Zelma Sparks Adkins of Morehead; two uncles, Dan and Avery, Jr.; three aunts, Sara, Susan, and Janice; three nieces; one nephew; several cousins and a large extended family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Wilma Abernathy Lancaster, and paternal grandfather, Avery Adkins.
A graduate of Rowan County High School, Jimmy also earned an Associate Degree and held certifications in HVAC. He was a beloved son, brother, and grandson who will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A memorial service will be conducted in Summerville, Georgia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
