Mary Kaye Ashford Hargis, 70, of Pine Hills, Morehead, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Born Sept. 7, 1946, in La Center at Sand Ridge, she was a daughter of the late Ursher Lee and Mary Katherine Dyer Ashford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Wayne Ashford.
Her devoted husband of 41 years, Samuel L. Hargis, passed away Oct. 20, 2007.
Mrs. Hargis is survived by two daughters, Susan A. (Michal) Baber of Morehead and Lesley (Michael) Slone of Oakland, Maryland; and four grandchildren, Joshua Riggsby, Zachary Riggsby, Emily Riggsby, and Matthew Slone.
Other survivors include two sisters, Beverly Poloski of La Center and Patricia Wells of Frankfort; one brother, Jimmie Lee Ashford of Lynchburg, Ohio; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
Mary Kaye was a retired cashier at Wal-Mart in Morehead. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Marsh officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers: Michal Baber, Michael Slone, Matthew Slone, Joshua Riggsby, Doug Riggsby, and Bryan Riggsby.
