Opal Eldridge, age 85, of Frankfort, formerly of Morehead, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
Opal was born December 12, 1931, in Rowan County, and was the daughter of the late Henry and Maggie Markwell Eldridge. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Fred, Henry, Virgil, Russell, Ray, Vernon, and Willie; three sisters, Sarah Jane, Gladys, and Ruth; and one great granddaughter, Olivia.
She is survived by daughter, Maggie (Wayne) Kennedy of Frankfort; one granddaughter, Rachel (Joey) Hobbs of Cox's Creek; two grandsons, Matthew (Leslie) Kennedy and David (Tiffany) Kennedy, all of Frankfort; eight great grandchildren, Emileigh, Logan, Madilyn, Lauren, Kaitlyn, Owen, Ellianna, and Benjamin; one brother, Don Eldridge of Ringos Mills; and one sister, Virginia Henson of Morehead.
Opal retired from the U.S. Shoe Factory in Flemingsburg and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, spending time with the family, and reading the Bible.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldridge Cemetery
Visitation is Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
