Phillip Dean Wright, age 73, of Wellington, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born January 23, 1944, in Pontiac, Michigan, a son of the late Harold Elmer Wright and Shirley Elaine Lockwood Wright. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Phillip Dean Wright Jr.
Phil is survived by his wife, Sandra Irene Lawson Wright, whom he wed March 27, 1965; one daughter, Tammy (Chris) Velzy of Madisonville; one daughter-in-law, Beth Angona Wright of White Lake, Michigan; seven grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Other survivors include one brother, Robert Wright of White Cloud, Michigan; three sisters, Jill Rayburn of Lapeer, Michigan, Nita Williams of Davison, Michigan, and Nina Thomas of Salt Lick, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.
Phillip retired from General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan, after 30 years of service and was a former employee at the Walker Construction Gravel Pit in Frenchburg. He enjoyed working on old trucks and visiting with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Allen Alvarez officiating. Burial will follow at the Oldfield Cemetery in Owingsville.
Pallbearers: Gary Crum, Braxton Hamm, Jerry Fuller, Donna Crum, Chris Velzy, Harold Crum.
Visitation is 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
