Raymond E. Ed Johnson, age 67, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester.
He was born February 25, 1950, in Breathitt County, a son of the late Bedford and Crystal McIntosh Johnson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Douglas Johnson and B. J. Johnson; one sister, Edna Trent; and one grandson, Raymond Elijah Johnson.
Ed is survived by three sons, Eddie Ray Johnson, Raymond Eli Johnson, and Marcus Dale Johnson, and one daughter, Patricia Johnson Mobley, all of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren, Ethan Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Travis Mobley, and Kristen McGlothin; three brothers, Earl Johnson, Wally Johnson, and Sam Johnson, and seven sisters, Maggie Clay, Liz Wilson, Susie Young, Bonnie Barnett, Wanda Dieffenbach, Sharon Wilson, and Christine Triplett, all of Montgomery County; and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was a farmer and logger and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Antioch Christian Church with Brother Tommy Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Johnson-Chambers Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Earl Cohen Johnson, Rodney Young, Richard Evans, Hubert Thomas, Franklin Johnson, Tommy Wilson.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Antioch Christian Church, 3800 Bedford Road, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Morehead, Kentucky.
