Ruby Fannin Dixon, age 79, of East High Street, Springfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Masonic Home Pathways in Springfield.
Born Jan. 4, 1938, at Newfoundland in Elliott County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Clell and Nancy Jane Simmons Fannin. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Fannin, and three sisters, Madge Nantz, Omega Lambert, and Nancy Cooley.
Her husband, Willard F. Dixon, passed away on Jan. 28, 2005.
Ruby is survived by two daughters, Loretta Swartz (Frank) of Pompano Beach, Florida and Madge (Jeff) Earles of Urbana, Ohio; two sons, Richard Dixon and David (Tina) Dixon, all of Springfield, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren.
Other survivors include one sister, Clara Taylor of Morehead; two brothers, Paul Fannin of Spring Lake, North Carolina, and Harold Fannin of Morehead; several nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
Ruby was a homemaker and an employee of the Springfield Laundry for 30 years. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Cockerham officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery in Newfoundland.
Pallbearers: Robert Hall, Delmar Hall, David Fannin, Ernie Fannin, Mike Cooley, Donnie Lambert, Wayne Lambert, Zane Warren, and Wayne Warren, Jr.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
