Ruby Pauline's Story
Ruby Pauline Kinder Rigsby, 92, of Oakwood Drive, Morehead, passed away Sunday morning, July 23, 2017, at her residence after a brief illness.
Ruby was born in Mason County, August 27, 1924, to the late William McKinley Kinder and Cordelia McKee Kinder. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clifford Rigsby on November 3, 1999, and one brother, William Earl Kinder.
Survivors include her son, Clifford Stephen Rigsby and wife Brenda of Clearfield; her grandson, Christopher Stephen Rigsby and wife Shauna and great grandson, Hunter James Middleton, also of Clearfield.
Ruby graduated from Morehead State University and taught her first two years in Ripley, OH as a home economics teacher. She then returned to MSU, obtained a degree in elementary education, and continued her teaching career in the Rowan County school system. She taught two years at Little Brushy School and spent the remainder of her career at Clearfield Elementary teaching the 8th Grade. She was an excellent teacher and had many students tell her in later years how they enjoyed being in her class.
Ruby and Clifford were charter members of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Morehead and attended there many years. The last several years, Ms. Ruby attended First Baptist Church of Morehead. She was an avid reader and was excellent at crocheting and other needlework. She was a wonderful cook and hostess and enjoyed spending time with family and with her tea party friends at Lakeview Heights.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Don Mantooth officiating. Burial will follow in Mays Lick Cemetery in Mason County.
Pallbearers: Raymond Conn, Dr. Mark Minor, Dr. Wayne Willis, Russ Ward, Dr. Randy Cornett, and Dean Harney.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
