Sara Ellen's Story
Sara Ellen Reeves Adams, age 86, of Grange City, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
Ellen was born February 7, 1931, in Grange City, and was the daughter of the late William Pamel and Elizabeth Bradshaw Reeves. On September 7, 1946, she married Thomas Andrew Adams, who preceded her in death on December 31, 1982.
Ellen was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Ann Adams in 2012; four sisters, Bessie Reeves in 1995, Nina Yapp in 2003, Abbie America Norris in 2004, and Veda Dean Brooks in 2006; and four brothers, Ollie R. Reeves in 1985, David William Reeves in 2003, Barney Reeves in 2004, and Herbert C. Reeves in 2013.
Mrs. Adams is survived by one son, John William "Bill" Adams of Grange City; two grandchildren, Billy Joe Adams and his wife Beth Ann of Grange City, and Penny Ann Adams Perez of Flemingsburg; six great grandchildren, Carmen, Sierra, and Eva Perez, all of Flemingsburg, and Bo, Nicholas, and Samantha Adams, all of Grange City; a half-brother, Denny Adams of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker and also worked on the dairy and tobacco farm with her husband Thomas. Ellen was a charter member of the Johnson First Church of God.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hawkins and Brother Lee Jent officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Monty Jent, Jose Perez, Christian Arredondo Perez, Matthew Maze, Brad Pettit, L. D. Pettit, Ricky Lewis, and Charles "Chubby" Curtis.
Visitation was 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
