Sylvia Brown Gregory, age 93, of KY Highway 519, Morehead, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.
Born October 7, 1924, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Jeff and Laura Sweeney Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Holly Brown and Opal Brown; four sisters, Verna Gregory, Corda Foster, Bernice Law, and Lenola Gregory; one son, Donnie Gregory; one granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Howard; and one great grandson, Harris Moore.
Her husband of 52 years, Jessie Denton Gregory, whom she married November 25, 1942, passed away on November 30, 1994.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by two sons, Ray Gregory and wife Pamela and Bobby Gregory and wife Sue; two daughters, Odema Buckner and husband Ray and Betty Howard, all of Morehead; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and extended family members and friends
She was a homemaker and a nurse's aide at Life Care Center for 18 years. She was a member of the Charity Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Baldridge Cemetery on US 60 West.
Pallbearers will be Virgil Brown, Denver Forman, Tony Pettit, Kaleb Thomas, William Leadingham, Jr., and Brian Stephens.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
