Virgil's Story

Virgil Clayton Wright, age 86, of Morehead, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

Born April 19, 1930, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Grace Mynhier Wright. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.

Virgil is survived by one son, Ronnie (Vanessa) Wright of Denver, North Carolina; three daughters, Diana Johnson of Lawrenceburg, Janet Sue (Lee) Helwig of Morehead, and Debbie (Dennis) Hanson of Jeffersonville; one brother, Denny Wright of Morehead; two sisters, Alberta McKinney and Joyce McKenzie, both of Indiana; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three half-sisters, Judy Thompson of Clearfield, Wanda Perkins of San Francisco, California, and Donna Perkins of Morehead; one half-brother, Robin Wright of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

He was a former taxi driver for Veterans Cab and Boyd's Cab and a former sawmill worker. He was of the Church of God faith and enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. Virgil will be sadly missed by all who loved him.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow at New Alfrey Cemetery.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
