William Thomas "Tom" Barker, age 57, of Coldiron Hollow Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1960, in Maysville, a son of Jean Adkins Barker of Morehead and the late Herbert Barker. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Timothy Barker.
In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by two sons, Daniel Travis Barker and Jonathan Donald Barker, both of Morehead; one daughter, Christin Nicole Smith and husband Phillip of West Liberty, seven grandchildren, Johnny Thomas Leadingham, Abigail Smith, Emily Smith, Ethan Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Gabby Barker, and Madison Barker; and the love of his life fiancée, Julie Beckmann of Morehead.
Also surviving are four brothers, Rick Barker and Randy Barker and wife Connie, all of Morehead, Jeff Barker and wife Luana of Olive Hill, and Rob Barker and wife Ashley of Maryville, Tennessee; two sisters, Debbie Barker Davis and husband Steve and Jeanetta Barker Coldiron and husband Jerry, all of Morehead; sister-in-law, Lois Barker of Morehead; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Tom was a carpenter and enjoyed watching U. K. basketball, camping, boating, family gatherings, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Mark Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Travis Barker, Jonathan Barker, Rick Barker, Randy Barker, Jeff Barker, Rob Barker, Phillip Smith, and Steve Davis.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
